All of these dogs are old or dogs with special needs in foster homes that will live out their lives in love, peace & happiness in the care of our rescue. Most have had unthinkable pasts and are on alot of medication. Some people would look at these dogs and just think they are not worth saving. We totally disagree and hope we can give these poor dogs just a few years of happiness. This may be the only love they have felt their whole life - we can't just leave them to suffer and die in the pounds. If you agree please spare a few pounds to help towards their upkeep. We are not looking to rehome these dogs as they are in happy foster homes but would appreciate some finacial support by the way of sponsorship.

Jack is a 14 year old Jack Russell Terrier cross. He's still surprisingly nimble even though he suffers with arthritis and what the vet calls 'dog bronchitis'. Poor Jack has also recently had to have some of his teeth removed. Jack caught the kennel cough which turned to pneumonia and so the vet X rayed him to see how bad it was and discovered at the same time that he has a badly collapsed trachaea which is why he has always had a cough that has never cleared. His metacam dose has been upped as his knee in his little back leg keeps popping out. But again due to age the vet can't operate. He quite happily runs around on 3 legs chasing my chickens and barking at the horses.

Jet is a 15 year old crossbreed with perhaps a bit Collie in there? He came into us in a real state. Most of his back was one very large open cauliflower tumour. This has now all been medically treated. Jet is quite stiff on his legs, suffers with hypothyrodism, he's blind in one eye and has ongoing ear infection problems. Despite all this he's surprisingly spritely when he gets going and trotted off to explore when he was bored of fuss. Jet wasn't easy to film as he wanted to get close for a cuddle bless him.

Tony is nine year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross. He was named by our foster Mum as he was bald and skinny when he came in which perfectly described "Uncle Tony" hence his unusual name! Tony suffers ongoing stomach problems which vary between being acute and painful to no problem at all. As a result he's on a special diet and medication to help him. Tony has gained weight and when he's well bounds around in typically Staffie fashion showing he's still got a zest for life. He also has a cataract in one eye. Tony could be rehomed however his medication costs around £350 per month and any new owner would have to be 100% committed to keeping this up for Tony’s sake and accept the fact that he’ll be a regular visitor to the vets for the rest of his life when he’s in pain. Tony is doing really well on his new medication and hasn't had a bad attack for about a month now. He loves the sun and is still quite active so spends the day outside with my collies when it is warm enough for him. He has an obsession with water and keeps trying to get in the duck baths when i clean them out, in fact he is turning into a real little farm dog. No doubt when we do the hay he will spend the day running up and down the field 'Helping out' and when he gets tired will jump in the truck for a lift.

Kaydie is a 14 year old golden Labrador cross. She's deaf and quite blind and suffers with arthritis. Kaydie is on Metacam for the pain and has recently had to have some teeth removed. She's also going senile in her old age. Despite this she's a sweetheart who trots around quite happily. Kaydie is thought to have bone tumours and we are awaiting the vets results on whether this has already spread to her chest. As she is likely to have a poor prognosis she will remain in her foster home for the rest of her life. Kadie had really bad kennel cough and pneumonia and spent a week at the vets on iv antibiotics. Unfortunatly because she has had the pneumonia for so long, (don't know how long but had it when she came from the pound) it has scarred her lungs so she is always going to have a cough. She is quite senile bless her and wanders alot a night. Despite this she is a happy dog and eating very well. The vet found a lump on her chest but he thinks it is nothing to worry about and doesn't want to put her under to remove it due to her age and state of her lungs.

Betty is at least 12 years old and had a brief moment of fame when Doris Banham appeared on Panaroma with the plight of unwanted Staffies in today's society. Betty is adored and adorable. She's the mother figure of the oldies and tenderly cares for any ill dog in our care. She's was incredibly obese when she arrived and we've gradually managed to get some weight off her but Betty is rather food motivated! Betty recently nursed a dog with an ear infection wanting to clean the infected ears constantly. It's obvious she's been used for breeding in the past so she clearly has a very strong maternal instinct. Betty also has hyperthyroidism. The vet feels she doesn’t have much time left so she’ll be left with her foster home for the rest of her life.

Due to his difficulty with changes in routine, Kevin will be staying with his forever foster Mum for the rest of his life.
