SPECIAL APPEAL

THIS OLD BOY IS CALLED ELI

Eli is an 11year old Collie cross who needs your help as he has an ongoing medical condition called Cushins which needs life long medication that costs £175 a month on medication alone. Eli is now living in permanent foster care and getting a lot of TLC which he badly needs. He was abandoned some where in Yorkshire probably because his owners wouldn't or couldn't afford to pay his vets bills.

He was rescued by the Doris Banham Dog Rescue who are now facing the same problems paying for his long term medications hence this appeal for help. He is a delightful little fellow but getting on in years.

We would like to think he should be able to spend the last few years of his life in comfort so we would appreciate any financial help you can provide.

Hi. I am Ashley Stewart 19 years old, my brother Guy Stewart, 21 years old and my friend Simon Haw aged 19 years are from Spalding in Lincolnshire. Sunday 5th April we are ran a marathon for charity in Blackpool. We had always been determined to run for a worthwhile cause, but we could not decide which charity to run for. That is until my Mum and Dad thought about fostering a dog from The Doris Banham Dog Sanctuary.

His name was Eli and from all accounts, had not enjoyed a very happy life. Unfortunately our dog Lucy did not make him at all welcome, and after very careful consideration it was thought that after all Eli had gone through, over the past few years, he deserved a quieter and more peaceful time in his twilight years, and with Lucy being a very bossy and busy dog would not afford him that.

Knowing that Eli needs a lot of medical attention we decided to run, to raise much needed funds for all his treatment, which would free up very limited funds for the rest of the dogs that need caring for. At last we found a worthwhile cause to raise funds for.
