Gift Aid

How Gift Aid works

Gift Aid works by allowing charities to take a donation (which is money that the donor has already paid tax on), and then reclaim tax on its 'gross' equivalent (its value before tax was deducted) at the basic rate. This is 20 per cent from 6 April 2008.

In practice this means that for every pound donated to charity using Gift Aid the charity can claim an additional 25 pence from the Government.

Gift Aid can apply to one-off donations or to a series of regular donations.

Who can donate through Gift Aid?

A donor can use Gift Aid if the amount of tax they have paid in the tax year of the donation is sufficient to cover the amount of tax the charity will reclaim against the donation. The tax paid by the donor may be Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax or tax credits on UK company dividends. Tax years start on 6 April and run until 5 April the following year.

Foreign Currency

Got any left over money from your holiday?

We can accept all notes in any currancy and pay into the charities accounts

Coins we can accept are Euros and coins from Turkey or Spain

Please send odd coins to:-

USED STAMPS

Please send us your used stamps, we can accept stamps from

any country.

Maybe you can start a collection jar at home and your work

place, then when you have a small pile, pop them in an

envelope and send them to:

It might seem a bit faffy tearing stamps off envelopes, but

every stamps counts and the money we raise helps dogs in

need.

We are now registered with the Charities Aid Foundation to accept Give As You Earn donations. This is the UK's most popular form of payroll giving. Direct donations to our charity are tax free and come straight from gross pay. If anyone would like to help us in this way CAF have a direct helpline for further information 01732 520 019 or go to their website for more info:-
