Doris Banham Dog Rescue are so proud and privileged to be presented their cheque for £25,000 on the site of their brand new kennel block - a dream that the Jean Sainsbury Animal Welfare Trust has made come true by awarding us their 40th Anniversary Special Project Award. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts and the hearts of all the dogs in our care.
As we struggle to cope with the present national animal welfare crisis, the donation of this kennel block at our main kennels by the Jean Sainsbury Animal Welfare Trust is a real Godsend. During this crisis we have had to take an increased number of emergency boarding kennels in order to save dogs' lives when our main kennels are full which has placed us under enormous financial pressure. We were 'the last chance to live' for these dogs who would all have died if we had not taken extra kennels. This block will allow us to move 10 dogs at a time out of emergency boarding to our main kennels for rehoming thus allowing us to reduce costs and increase our rehoming rate. We are so very grateful to Jean Sainsbury for giving us this amazing lifeline.

Buddy is a very happy dog, whose tail never stops wagging! He is a strong boy and will need a strong owner.
Buddy is now 16 months old and was due to die at the pound last December, as his time was running out. Thanks to your generous support, we rescued Buddy as his ‘last chance to live’. Just look at Buddy now ❤️

Back in 2023, via your generous support, we were able to rescue Tyson from the pound and give him another chance at life.
He has learned to be the good boy we all knew he could be and has come so far, benefitting from the training programme, love and attention that’s been given to Tyson via the dedicated kennels team.
His progress continues and Tyson needs a Bull-Breed experienced owner to continue to support him, as he’s still a young boy.
🐾Tyson can be nervous of strangers, so any potential adopters would be required to make numerous visits to the kennels, to build up a relationship of trust and confidence.
🐾He’s strong on the lead, so needs a strong owner

ADEY IS SUCH A HAPPY BOY, NOW LOOKING FOR HIS NEW HOME - COULD THAT BE YOU?
Happily, these days, Adey’s tail never stops wagging! He’s such a friendly boy who can be strong on the lead. Initially excitable, he does calm down after several minutes.
Adey has come a long way since entering our care. His situation was desperate, as he was being kept outside in freezing temperatures, huddled on a concrete step.
Adey was being kept alive by a kindly neighbour throwing him food. That neighbour was called Adrian. The community begged us to save Adey. He was pitifully thin and weak. After a lot of TLC and healing, Adey (named after his very compassionate neighbour Adrian) is now strong and seeking his new special owner. He’ll make a wonderful loving companion.
Adey hasn’t been cat tested and would need introductions with dogs in the potential adopter’s household, to see if a bond is possible.

‘GOOD BOY MASON’ IS READY FOR HIS SPECIAL FOREVER HOME - COULD THAT BE YOU OR SOMEONE YOU KNOW?
Mason was tied to a door handle when we were asked to take him into our care. We had to do a mad dash to pick him up because things were out of control and he was at severe risk.
But just look at him now - such a good boy, who has worked so well in retraining and is now ready for the loving ‘forever home’ he deserves.
Mason in a very active dog but has recently undergone medical investigations. He suffered a fractured hip as a puppy so will need sensitive care / handling as he has some sensitivities e.g doesn’t like his lower back being touched.
This beautiful Golden Retriever is :

🐾 a lovely boy who is high energy and wants to play all the time.
🐾 always happy and loves to walk
🐾 lovely on the lead.
